The Hall of the Moontain King

It’s been well over a year since I wrote anything that wasn’t work related. Not sure what happened in November of 2024 that might have depressed me to the point of giving up all hope.

It’s a mystery! 🤷

Here’s something I probably started back then, starring two of my favorite characters I semi-created; Caecelia and Mootella. Read their previous stories HERE and HERE. This is very much an homage to the scene in Duck Soup where Chicolini (Chico) and Pinky (Harpo) meet with Trentino to report on their mission to spy on Firefly (Groucho).

Short Story: The Wayback Machine

I missed my deadline last week! That means I have to put out two projects this week, lest I fall behind. It’s written right there in the rules. In The Motern Method that is.

This is actually an older story that I just came back and revised. It feels a bit like cheating, but it’s only slightly less work than banging out something that’s only existed in my head for 10+ years.

Traudl Quest: Part 7

I thought this would be the final entry, but it started getting way too long. So I promise this is the penultimate chapter. It wraps up next week!

When we last left Traudl, she was deep in the evil domain of the fiend, Mozebarr. I already spoiled that this isn’t the final chapter, so I won’t pretend she fights and defeats him this time out. So… there goes that excitement.

But, please… read anyway! I promise it’s good!

Terra Magicae: Chapter 5

Read Chapter 4 HERE

Yes, I am posting this a day later than usual, but that was by design. My work travel arrangements have shifted slightly and as such Thursday is my best day to devote to writing (or revising what I’ve already written earlier in the week). I’ll take a lump for being a day late, but this is the new schedule I’m going to try to stick to!

Today we continue the story of Aržak and his pals in an alternate ancient Earth. We are reunited with Chobo at long last. I’ve missed the little guy.

Short Story: Pacification

I cheated a little this week. This is something I wrote many years ago, but took the opportunity to revise and re-work.

Is that an excuse if it’s not good? “Why, I wrote this a while ago, before I became the brilliant artist I am now!”

No. It’s corny, cliche, and overly sincere, but I enjoyed revisiting (and correcting) my past self. As they say, there’s no accounting for taste.

Thank you for checking it out…

Short Story: The Summer of My Humiliation

I decided to post something original for once, instead of complaining about movies. So here goes. It’s not much of anything. I don’t even know what it’s about. I’ll save the inspiration and background until the end.

On with the show…

EDIT: There’s a gimmick near the latter half where I use images to represent a text message conversation. It’s not ideal on small screen mobile devices. For the best reading experience, I recommend desktop or tablet.
